Default What to look for when buying?

I'm new to Fords but have been thinking about getting an 04-08 lately. What should I look for or avoid when shopping? Is there a certain amount of miles where problems seem to pop up for a lot of people? I've heard of the spark plug issue but is there anything else I should really pay attention to when buying? Thanks!

get a 4.6. Not a 5.4 they break plugs and tend to tick/knock then they lock up.

Cam phasers can be an issue and thats what people are refering to as the "tick". Exhaust manifolds can leak and are a pain to replace. Spark plugs are not actually that hard as long as you have the right tool and do your research. Overall I actually like the 5.4, it might not be as peppy as the 5.0 but it sounds mean, its got torque for days, and it happens to power my beloved King Ranch.
