What just happened?

Rod broke, slammed the piston into a plug, flattened it, cracked the head, filled the block with coolant, locked the engine up.

The fix: crate motor

wow. did you find the reason for that? as the oil was recently changed, oil leak or something like that?

Nope, other than the mechanic saying though it may have not read that it had ran hot, that it must have ran hot.
