You got Torque Pro don't you? You can monitor ECT, EOT, TFT, and IAT and go round and round the block till it warms up. Lol

A few Gate, Racetrac and Sunoco stations carry ethanol-free 91 octane, but it's about 70 cents more per gallon.

I have been running 93 Octane since I started using the "performance Tune" that requires it. I have gotten better fuel efficiency as well as more power by doing so. I do have a question of my own regarding fuel and fuel types. Would a lower octane fuel with the addition of an octane booster additive be the equivalent of a traditional higher octane fuel? How would you determine the resulting octane total? I'm just asking b/c it crossed my mind when I filled up with premium gas what if, you filled up with regular and added octane booster to the fuel, would the resulting concentrations be the same and what is the difference or concerns when running custom/premium tunes on a programmer?

Just thought I'd pose the question since the topic was about fuel. ThanX

Whether boosted fuel is "equivalent" depends on what the fuel has blended in from the pump and what the octane booster has blended in (some offer additional top end lubrication, etc).

It should say on the bottle how much octane it will boost, generally referring to a point table. You have to keep in min that 10 points is 1 octane level, so you'd need an advertisement of a boost of up to 60 points for 87 to to reach 93.

Generally speaking, I would purchase the higher octane from the pump, and only use booster in a emergency where you had to buy lower octane and you notice the engine starts pinging (pre-ignition).
