Default What exaust?

What exaust would be the best on a 2006 with a 4.6L V8? On my last truck i had a flowmaster dual outlet dump exaust on a V6 ford ranger that sounded loud but a little to "hummy" if you know what i mean. The resonation in the cab was loud. Will a flowmaster dumped exaust on the 4.6L have a deeper growl? Does it sound better dumped or dualed out to the back with tips? I want it to sound cool but i dont want that same lound resinating sound up in the crew cab like it did in the single cab ranger.

Any exhaust you buy will be much deeper sounding simply because it's a V8 versus a V6. No comparison.

Not sure about the Flowmaster. I can tell you this. I have Magnaflow side-exit, in front of the rear tire. I love the sound, but it is kinda loud, especially when towing. That may not be the right kit for you. I'd go for something behind the tire, or rear exit altogether.

I heard a Gibson dual rear the other day that sounded really nice. Enough, but not too much.

You have to consider if you want the sound for you, or everybody else!

Youtube has a few videos on flowmaster on 4.6's I think they sound great, I wouldn't dump them if you want to get rid of the sound in the cab, run them out the back, now if you go with the flowmaster 40's you will hear it in the cab, try the 50's

Thanks, for the replies guys. I think the MBRP would be nice but its a little more than i wanted to spend. So the Flowmaster 40's series is more of a loud racy sound compared to the 50's series. I see on Flowmasters website that the 50's are designed for trucks. I like the name mister Moderater, as it is mine also. I probably wont do a dump setup. It will probably be dualed out to the back either both on one side or both out the back. Although out the side before the rear tire would be cool also.

The search...use the search. It only took 6 days for this question to pop up again.

I predict "what cold air box is best" will come up within the next 3 days!
