Default What do you do for winter prep? (Salt states)

Personally, I spray fluid film inside the rocker holes and cover with new tape, partially remove front tender liners, clean out and spray with fluid film.

I also spray the bed supports with FF.

I spray the top side of the rear wheel wells with white lithium grease spray (access from looking up from under the rear bumper) and I spray the inner bottom door lips with white lithium grease as well.

I used FF on areas that don't get blasted with the pressure washer all winter and white lithium grease in areas that do as it sticks much better.

I also wash weekly or twice a week all winter long. If I didn't do all this my truck probably wouldn't look like it does.

I'm in Florida, so I just make sure the A/C works well.

My winter prep consists of checking the coolant for proper winter protection. Washing? Bleh, it gets washed at the first good spring rain lol.

Haha. What year is your truck and how much rust do you have?

Amsoil MPHD on everything and inside every crevice underneath. Detail the exterior, paint sealant that I know will last 6+ months (Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, Duragloss 601/105), and apply glass coating. New wipers. Check all fluids. Throw a couple sand bags in the bed and move the spare tire into the bed. Check my first aid and survival kits and restock if needed.

2006 FX4 screw with 204k on the clock. Only rust on the truck is the cab corners, fairly common on the 04-08 screws.
