Some of the reviews for the channel mounted version said they interfered with the window some. I'm sure there's a lot of variability on how people put these on, but it was a factor in my decision to go with the tape on. The added width for the tape strip doesn't really bother me. I just hope they work and don't start to peel off the truck over time. I'm sure they won't. Millions of moldings and emblems are held on to vehicles with that 3M tape. It's pretty strong stuff.

I just ordered some in-channel ones and they should be here tomorrow. I'll let you all know how they are and take some pics.

I think what you're referring to are the trucks with the auto up feature. With the auto up it made the channel tighter and due to the built in safety feature it would register that there was something in the way and go back down.

I've also had a couple vehicles with the 3M tape and never had any problems with them. I don't think it'll be a problem at all. If they do start to come off you can always peel them off, clean up the residue and add new tape with a higher weight rating. Just make sure you get the outside tape and they'll never come off.

Default What Did You Do To Your Truck Today?

I finally got her cleaned out after a few months of summer camps (the kids), lots of landscaping (me), and playing in the dirt (the kids and me).

Picked it up from having the frame replaced at a Ford dealership and I'm super pissed off with what they've done. Anyway can someone with a screw run outside and check how their cab mounts? On mine the middle cab mount is just a bolt sticking out and the ones in the front and towards the rear are a bolt head. Is that the way they are supposed to mount? And the middle one doesn't have a nut on the end of it.

I have the "in channel" ones, and absolutely no interference with the window operation. They come with small plastic clips that you place into the front and rear corners of the window channel to address this. I had them on my 2005 F150, and now this current 2007.

Nice, clean look.

Dropped her off for a valve stem, and to have that A/C fixed or deleted, whatever they can do cheapest. Done screwing with that and done pumping that tire.....lol

Here's the installed leather seats (and console) in my 2007. Best grand and change I've spent on the truck, other than it's initial purchase price (bought used):
