Do a nice retrofit. It'll blow those PnPs away and not blind other drivers. That brightness and nice spread is an illusion.

Taking it in to the shop today. Got my bumper off this weekend to replace the hitch and bumper after I was rear ended about a month ago. Thought it was a bumper bracket that was bent in, which it was, but missed the frame damage that buckled a bit. So who knows how long it'll be in the shop for. Good thing is that insurance is taking care of it.

Also going to have them take care of my cab corners that are rusted out as well while it's there.

I know people seem to dislike the HID's but they seem alright for now. I can't afford a retrofit right now. People gotta remember that I'm only 17 here. Haha

What he means is that you get a lot of scatter and no clear cut-off by plugging HIDs into reflectors. You're killing the night vision of other people on the road and some of them might be polite enough not to flash you, or assume you're just running really bright HIDs, but you're really not making anyone happy.

You should wait to put those in until you've put in projectors because, ultimately, safety is your responsibility.

Last three days spent working on the truck. First day we got the HID's in. They are brighter than the Halogens, however I do concede that it is a wide spread. However i feel that some bright lights here and there are much less dangerous than, for example, texting and driving. Which I religiously don't do. There's some give and take everyone. Next we took apart the lightbar, and cleaned and dried it out. Looks better now, better lighting too. Went to re-aim, and stripped both sides of the bar, so I had to to re-tap. Never did that before but you learn something new everyday. Third day we mounted a flag in the bed, just put the pole through the tie down, with bolts through the pole above and below the tie down to lock it in. We then set to work on the wheels. Took them off and cleaned them with dish soap. Used some padding we had (like a scotch-brite pad) to roughen the wheels and center caps, and painted the wheels. Used Rustoleum peel-coat in graphite color. Has a nice flake to is. 6 coats all around. Rotated the tires as well. 16k on the tires now.

Yes I know. I've been lectured many times. The cut off seems alright honestly, better than I expected. I've checked and driven another vehicle while someone followed me, it isn't that bad. I'm all about safety, but my safety comes first, so I'll worry about how I see at night before I worry about how others see at night.

Oh you sweet summer child.

I'm not lecturing you but let's correct just one tiny thing. The brighter your lights are, the harder it is for others to see. If others can't see, they can't do anything to avoid hitting something. They could careen into you, they could send something flying your way, etc.

It should never just be "your safety above all others" because their safety IS your safety.

But hey, what do I know, I've only been driving longer than you've been alive.

Let's not get into this. I know what I've done and people's opinions. I'll do what I want with my truck. End of discussion. I'll retrofit as soon as I can. Sorry for upsetting so many people.

Again, you didn't make me upset. I'm just trying to talk some sense into you. It's fine, you're at an age when being stubborn is natural. That's okay.

You'll figure it out eventually.
