Question What category is my truck in???

I have a 2008 Screw HD edition f150 that is the AWD version with the N/A engine.I want to upgrade the brakes and install cross drilled rotors.Would I need the ones for the 4WD or 2WD??? Also while i am asking is the trans the same between the two. Will any performance programmer for the N/A F150 5.4 work with my trans????? I am looking at the Edge or Gryphon...

If I was a betting man I would put it all on 4wd.

I would say 4wd, since your truck is kinda always in 4wd... For 2008, the manual only has 1 manual and 1 automatic tranny listed, so you should have the 4R75E like the FX4's, XLT, FX2, etc, etc. As far as I know, the Edge Evo should support your truck ('08, F150, 5.4L). If you had a supercharged one, it probly would be a little different story. You could call Edge to double check, but I would guess you have the same engine/tranny as all the other 5.4's. But I I do know that they don't work on Mark LT's and Expeditions for some reason, something to do with differences in the PCM. A Gryphon is going to give you a little more flexibility down the road if you do any other mods.

I just checked the Edge Products website to double check the vehicles it doesn't support and saw they have those new programmers for our trucks! CS and CTS

Man, I would have thought there was a Ford tech out there that could give me a definite answer on this question. I guess I can have the parts store look the rotors up and see if there are different part numbers...

From what i have read...your rotors are the same as the 4wd ones... and the programmer would also work ..

Should be the 4wd rotors, I believe the 2wd have integral hubs.

The trans internals should be the same for them all, but the output shaft and housing is normally different so the 4wd can accept the transfer case. That said, I would think the tuner should work fine.
