Hi all. I have an 07 f150 with the most useless shelf ever built below the lighter (see picture). You can't put anything there because it falls out.

Anyway, I recently replaced my factory stereo and noticed that this was pretty easy to take out. So my question is, what can I put there? Do other f150's have stuff there? Where can I get these parts from? I search car-part.com but didn't really know what to look for. I would like a drawer or something. Thanks!

Maybe glue in a lip so the stuff will not slide out. Or take it out and screw a lip in from the bottom so it looks good.

wait! i just had a thought! isnt there some type of material that has a sort of grip on it u can glue in there? to keep stuff from sliding?

I just don't know what ford was thinking with that shelf!
Jorge - they do make some cell phone mat or something, maybe I could get something like that and cut to fit.
What does everyone else have there? An ashtray?
I have an XLT, pretty lame they left it like that :/

Yep thats where my ashtray used to go, now it just stores all my extra wire for the radar detector

i ran my ipod cable through the back and leave my ipod in there.... a also use it to store my faceplate from my radio. it comes out really easily so if you wanted to do anything with it go ahead. it comes out easy enough for it to be a stash spot if ever pulled over (not that ive ever needed it just have that kind of mind! haha)
