It seems a little low for mpg I have 34's and average 16-17 with 87 octane tune And exhaust.
when was the last time plugs were changed?
could look into full synthetic gear lubes

Not sure on plugs, bought the truck last year so it probably not a bad idea to change them is there a better brand to buy or are they the same for quality?

I'm also willing to bet auntie and grandpa are not running 35's and an iron cross front bumper....

As already mentioned, getting rid of weight and the large rotating mass of tires you have will be your best option.

You're heading off to college; why not put the stock tires/rims and front bumper back on? You can always re-install them when you graduate. However, if you plan to travel daily 150 miles to campus (), I'm betting you'll be driving something else before long.

If you'll be on campus, consider buying a scooter to get you around. I see a kagillion of them whenever I head back to my old college during football and baseball season.

Now driving every day probly once a month. Even when I was stock I was getting 10 mpg. Can't put old tires on because someone slashed them and can't put stock front end on because someone hit my truck in a parking lot.

Item 10 in my brief list above, is maintenance ( or lack thereof ).

To that end:

Refer to - and completely read the linked info in: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/help-05...1/#post4042558

Yes - A lot to digest - but if yer serious aboot improving mileage as much as possible within the constraints of this platform... the info is out there.

Up to you ....

Me thinks I'm going to have to look into doing some of the things listed on the thread you posted. I've got nearly 100k and I think it'll be good to preempt some of the stuff that could go wrong on a more high mileage engine. The key would be to find out if they would do it under warranty.

What do you have? A 4.6 or the 5.4?
My last truck was a 4.6 and I would get 16 on it. With driving heavy footed. My 5.4 gets 11 all day. when I see 12 its feels like if its my birthday. NOT REALLY but you get what I mean. You want better gas MPG buy a corolla.
