I was doing a service check for my 2007 F150 and the tech said I needed this service based on the mileage (17000) and age of vehicle. It would run me an additional 129.95 to have it done. I passed. What is this service and how often should it be done? Can I do it myself? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ran into the same thing at the dealer.... turns out, they are just cleaning out the intake ducts that provide air to the cabin. I think if you have a small vacuum attachment, some air freshener, and an air compressor, you can get mostly there and keep your $130. Off the top of my head, I am not sure if there is a cabin air filter on this rig, but if there is, you could probably replace that too.
