i am almost 100% positive that it is a receiver antenna for the remote start....in fact i will almost bet its for a viper system
is there any serial or model numbers on it?

It was there prior to the remote start. No part numbers on it. 3 wire connector going to it from under the headliner

That is a 2 way LED antenna. Probably for an aftermaret alarm that was removed, or remote start. Most likely, when you had your new remote start installed, they wired it to the existing antenna.

It is part of your mirror assy, you have the automatic-dimming mirror as I have the same box/mirror. Don't know why it is so big-but it works on keeping you from getting blinded at night. I don't have either factory/aftermarket remote starter. Since I bought my truck new, they told me what is was/does. Mystery solved!
