I have the PHP Gryphon. I've had it for a few months now. I've been averaging 17-19 mpg in my 2004 FX4 5.4L leveled with 33's. You can definitely tell a big difference over stock performance. The truck has a lot more pep when you jump on the throttle. PHP has excellent customer service, I'd recommend them to anyone. I knew nothing about programmers when I started looking. I simply did some searching on the forum, there are all sorts of threads about different programmers and who would recommend what.

If you're going to keep your truck mostly stock, I'd go with an Edge. They have the prebuilt "canned" tunes that were meant to make minor tweeks to a stock vehicle, adjusting transmissions shift points and firmness, calibrating your speedometer, tire size, etc. What I always liked about Edge was the fact that it offers you an extra set of gauges so that you can monitor trans temp, air temp, mileage, all that good stuff.

That being said, if you're wanting to install mods like full exhaust, lift, tires, intake, etc, then I'd go with PHP. The only reason I'm writing this is because this is exactly what I did. After my headers and whatnot, I finally checked out PHP's Gryphon and sold my Edge and I havent looked back. The custom programs they built for my truck utilize every mod that I have and it has never run better.

So it comes down to which direction youre wanting to go. Use the search function, that'll be your main way to get information, and then just call around and ask questions. Good hunting!

Thanks man! Ya, I have a cold air intake, a 3in lift, and 35in tires so I'll probably look into the PHP!

I'd say SCT but I may be slightly biased as well. :-)

Got an SCT livewire on my truck! Sct gets my vote. Custom tunes might give you a slight edge over a pre-programmed unit... Especially if you have or plan to have any other major mods
