what air pressure to run in 285/70/17 load rangeE tire.
I just bought 4 cooper discoverer st maxx tires in a 285/70/17 load range E. What is the best air pressure to run to get the best wear. I do not tow or haul anything and all of my driving is city and highway. No off roading either. Just snow in winter.

you could try the chalk test and draw a chalk line across your tire and drive it a bit to wear the chalk off and determine what pressure gives you a bit more than a half an inch of chalk line on each side of the tread...what I do on my heep...anyway, just a suggestion...

After I put BF Goodrich Commercial Traction TA's on the Ranger I had, I ran them for a few days at 65 psi just to see what they felt like. The truck just kind of skittered around and I had a couple frightening turns...
I dropped the pressure 20 lbs. Better.

After adjusting some more, I ended up running 42 to 44 in the front and about 28 to 30 in the rear.
I've always run the rear tires just a bit lower than the fronts on the trucks I've had. I like the ride, handling and wear pattern.
