Wet, humid, or damp.........NO START!!!
Hey fellas, I would appreciate any help I can get. My 2004 F150 is giving me fits. Just recently I hit a big mud puddle on the right side of my truck. My truck died immediately. Since then It will not start if it rains or even if its humid or foggy. It will crank and crank, but no go until it dries. Does anyone have any ideas, and or fixes? Thank you in advance.

I was actualy working on this same problem on a porshe earlier today. Try taking off your distributer cap and letting that dry out. or maybe the ignition coils, the one on my truck just plain shorted out when it got wet but you never know...

His truck doesn't have a dist cap , and it is coil on plug so it would have to be several coils for a no start. I would check all connections , especially the one for the pcm . Sounds like a loose connection and the moister is causing it to short / arc . One trick that worked for me on a Stang I had was spray each connection with wd 40 and let sit for a while . From what I am told the wd forces the water out .

My boy had a sunfire with same problem after hitting a puddle in the spring time. Unfortunately everyone (mechanics} had good ideas to fix the car but none of them worked. Eventually bought a different car. Hope you have better results.

My 04 F150 has the same issue. It will not start when it rains out, then go back after it dries up and it pops right off. It happened today for the first time with wet heavy snow and I hooked up my scanner to find the pcm was active and it saw rpm during start (which tells me the crank position sensor isn't the culprit). The timing was not moving off of 10 degrees even while cranking, so i was thinking cam position maybe?
