wet diff cover..trouble??

Default wet diff cover..trouble??

yo fellas, the bottom of my rear diff cover appears wet now, has for the last couple weeks...what kind of trouble am i into with this?

well i would definitely take a look at it, put new fluid in and re-seal it. worst case scenario, the rear end is dry and destroyed or if it's low enough could be damaged already

yea it can be a big can of worms, might just be slowly leaking or empty, gotta yank the cover off to be sure...be careful taking it off, if you bend it, you make more work for yourself.

I would look to see if it is coming from the rear seal or if its just the cover seal if its the cover it just needs to be resealed .the rear seal is not to bad to replace but the torque is important .I would also check the u joints if they are bad it could of caused the seal to go. p.s if you pull the cover do not be surprised if their is a little bit of shavings from normal wear and tear. p.s.s you should also check for play in the yolk.

it was just wet around the bottom half, but i took it to the mechanic yesterday, and it was just the silicon sealer was starting to wear out and it was slightly leaking, it was still full of fluid. so all is good.
