Never let air out of street tires and never do a burnout on street tires. You will loose traction and oil down the lane.

Yea I know you don't need to do a burnout on street tires but I find I do get better 60 foots when I air my niito 555 tires down to 20 to 25 psi.

What do you have the 555's on? When i had a set I aired them down to 16-18psi as needed. I'm running m and h racemasters at around 14.5 psi.

On my 06 Mustang GT with pretty much all boltons, cams, still n/a, putting down just a little shy of 350 rwhp. Car is capable of better times then I can get out of it as I'm still learning and don't have much skill yet.

If they are the 555 DR then yes drop them down to 18 psi and smoke them up nice and hot. Street tires are not made like DR or slicks and lose contact patch with to little air.

Ok I'll try 18 psi next time. Think lowest I've dropped em too was 22 before. I think I need some good lower control arms too which should help me plant a little better. Thanks for the tip!

Interesting take on street tires. Airring them down a little over what you run on the street almost always increases traction at the line. 6-8psi and below your norm is the most I have ever gone and what most guys at the strips do. This ofcourse was before my truck back when I had a SHO and a T-bird. As for a burnout yeah its pointless on street tires butaquick spin to loose whatever sand and gravel debris you ha e is a good idea.
