Default Welp.... Shoot Me Dead...

So I went and ordered my tires and wheels last friday as well as a bigger leveling kit... Install was today and when they inspected my front end... they said i needed the whole new rebuild for the front... ball joints, bearings, tie rods, etc... $1100 dollars added to my 3200 dollars I already spent on this and now this. BTW the truck wont be done till tomorrow so i gotta wait to get my baby back till lunch time tomorrow.... AHHHHHH

Why do they think you need all that work done to it? I think someone is trying to get you for your money, but at the same time, they might want to replace them because they are scared that once they install the tires and lift, that you will be back in a month to have trouble because the lift and larger tires put more strain on your suspension parts.

How many miles? Seems to me like they are bending you over the barrel.

$1100 is not too bad for all that work. I got both wheel bearings and all ball joints done at a cost of little over $1900(thank god it was covered by extended warranty). With the bigger rims and tires it is probably a good idea but that still doesn't take the initial shock away. Lol

^ Not that bad? Send me some of your money because that is a lot for that work in my book. I say just nut up and do it yourself. The tools can be rented, and it's not that scary working on the front end of these trucks. But then again, maybe that's just me.

That sucks! But I always ran into that when I got tires, whether it was on a Chrysler, BMW, F150. But it's a free diagnostic, too. I'd go get an alignment and they'd tell me what's wrong. Usually I'd end up spending $1000 to bet an alignment (wheel bearings, tie rod ends, ball joints). This time, well before I got tires, I put the level on, got an alignment, and of course wheel bearing was bad. Replaced that and made sure everything was good.

www.am-autoparts.com I just installed a HBS leveling kit and found this site for replacement OEM parts. They have some awesome prices!, especially on ball joints, upper/lower control arms, etc. Just wanted to share it.

Just remember that if you mess with the suspension at all like adding a leveling kit, then that could void the warranty. When I was replacing one of my struts under warranty, I slipped up and told them I had leveled the truck. They told me that if I put a leveling kit on then that would void any warranties on any suspension parts I had replaced DIY.

The truck has 157,000 miles on it with the original front end so it doesnt seem like all that stuff shouldn't need to get done... That's actually not that bad of a price for all the work they are doing to it. Everyone around here loves this place and everyone gets their work done there. It is locally owned and run. My dad has been dealing with them since before I was born because I am only 16
