That's what the dealer AND Jasper told me about them. If you have bad phasers to begin with, the internal "domino" effect has already begun and regardless of what you replace it is inevitable. He said (dealer) that replacing the phasers MIGHT get you an extra 4-5k miles once they have gotten "that bad" if they haven't already failed, so in the dealers OWN WORDS he said the phasers being replaced won't do anything but delay it. The only real solution is a swap to a new, fixed motor.
I didn't make that up, the dealer's service manager said that himself. IDK about you guys, but to me it doesn't sound like he is trying to make a buck on this deal, but just trying to help. Maybe he is full of smoke, maybe not, but at this point I really don't see any reason for him to lie... He knows I won't buy it from him.

To follow up, I ordered a new motor from said company. Cost me 4K out of pocket and a sharp pain in the ***. So, I'll be ripping the old one out and replacing *some* parts. My question is; what parts (if any) would you choose to replace even though you don't have to (ie. headers)?

That particular individual MAY have SOUNDED sympathetic, but I assure you, his bosses are not. Probably just felt bad because he had to be the one to tell you "tough s***".
Total cost is $3951.00 with a $1440 core charge (30 days to return it, free freight)
+whatever labor hours go into it ~$600-$800 maybe.
That included new hoses, belts, pulleys, pumps, plugs, coils, graphite pistons, and oversize valves. All I have to do is put my old manifolds, intake, and valve covers... that's all she wrote.
