weird sound coming fromfront passenger wheel
I know this is vague, but the best way I can describe the noise is like a spinning sound...like something is spinning on or in the area of the front passenger wheel. i notice it when I stop and it kinda like the breaks are "creeping" but they aren't. It's not constant, it stops after about 20 sec or so? (this in in 2wd, btw)
I first noticed it when we had a descent snow storm and I had to use the 4hi, with the wheel full turned there was a creaking sound from the same front passenger wheel area....thoughts??
thanks

I agree, I very rarely use my four wheel drive. I did use it recently and shortly after that I heard a roaring type noise. I pulled the tire and it definately needed replacing. I went ahead and changed them both because they both had the same mileage and I figured it would only be a matter of time before it needed it as well. They are nothing to change if you have some mechanical skills.

It's a 4wd truck, those bearings you cant repack, they're not tapered roller bearings which are commonly found on non drive axles. But the 2wd drive f150s of these years have bearings you can change out with a press, unless you want to replace the whole rotor/hub assembly. I'd say bearings or half shaft is bad. Does it make noise during turns?

Yah actually it did, in 4WD. I don't notice it in 2WD while turning.
I have an extended warranty, I wonder if it'll cover what you all are talking about?
