Default Weird clicking noise, dead battery

I have a 2004 F150 Crew Cab with 90000 miles. Recently, but only once in a while, my truck is dead and I can hear a weird clicking noise. I assume whatever is clicking has run down the battery. The noise is coming from the area around where the cab and the bed meet. Is there an electrical relay around there that has gone bad? Would this run down the battery? What is the fix?

Thanks,

Patrick S

sounds to me like the battery is shorted out inside itself.

I just wanted to see if you got this resolved. My '04 supercrew was doing the same exact thing. I replaced the battery and mine STILL won't crank.....

Thanks!

Where is the clicking noise coming from? Is it louder from inside or out?

Behind the seat of the back passenger...driver side. It's loud inside. Same outside...

If your truck is like mine then yes it's possible to be the keyless entry relay. It's located behind the back seat driver side. But for it to click a lot it almost sounds like a short in your keyless entry system. I have seen that happen. The gold colored pads will come loose and cross contacts inside the pad causing it to constantly try it work and hence kill your battery. Just a thought!!'
