Are you sure it's water and not coolant? A leaking heater core will sometimes get the carpet wet.

Had this same water issue. I ended up ripping of my drivers side fender and found the leak using a garden hose. The dumbass who replaced my windshield forgot to reinstall the seal on the little black tabs that are used to square up the glass before laying it down on the new sealant. Drove around for 4 months trying to fix the issue. I blamed it on the windshield from day one but they blamed it on Ford. Abra fixed it and reinstalled the fender. No more water.

i had this problem as well. it was caused from the installation from an after-market stereo system. they put the wires through drain hole tubing but never sealed around the wires thus causing a leak.
