Yep. My windshield was replaced sometime before I bought it. They actually clip in under the windshield and should be replaced when new glass is going in. Well mine wasn't and it wasn't filling the hole properly. Had to use a razor to cut the sealant they used to get mine in properly. As far as I remember its all plastic, has a push tab that goes through the firewall and tabs that catch under the windshield. Here is another pic:

Hard to believe that hole filled my truck up but it did. I can send you a link to where this whole issue was discovered on another site too that I just discovered when I was looking for a picture for ya.

The window clip might not be the only place it is leaking. I sealed the clip on my 06 but it is still leaking in from the fender area. You might want to check all the seams while the fender is off.

Thanks moremony for saving me a lot of frustration and also for saving my truck! It was just a matter of time before the floors would have rotted through if gone unchecked.

I grabbed a water hose and sprayed it onto the bracket, sure enough the interior started flooding in the wiring channel! I've been searching for information on leaks in the f150 for a while now and hadn't heard anything of this bracket leaking before. I would have never found this out on my own.

I would appreciate the link to the the discussion on this water leak.

The carfax on my truck shows a repair was done to the windshield before I owned it. I think maybe the windshield was replaced at one time and the bracket wasn't replaced.

I'm going to double check all the seams as well before putting the fender back on. I've read about a recall on these trucks where a weld seam on the firewall tends to leak. I still havent located this seam. In the picture I posted you can see a seam where I applied seam sealer, but it probably wasn't leaking from there.

so how do you fix this? Do you just go at it with some silicone to try and fill up the space?

And is this an issue on both sides of the car?

^That's what I was wondering as well. Looking closely at the bracket on my truck, there isnt much room to get in between the windshield and the spacer bracket to apply sealant all the way around. Does the windshield have to be removed to remove the old bracket and install a new bracket with new gaskets?

My issue was they used too much window sealant and it was bulging out from underneath the windshield. The bracket wasn't pushed in all the way because it needs to clip in under the windshield. It just barely clips though. It's just to keep it from moving around I guess. Thats why it should be replaced on a windshield replacement. I just cut the clips off and RTV'd the hole like crazy and pushed the bracket in and let the RTV set-up. THen I put the cowl all back together. You just want water to stop coming through the hole where the bracket gets pushed in. Not ideal but hasn't leaked since.

I replaced both sides, because both channels were filling with water.

Who would have these spacer brackets? The dealer?
