Question Washer fluid doesnt spray up on extreme cold weather !!

Hey Folks...ON Colder days..minus 5 celcius and below the washer fluid doesn't seem to spray up...wonder if the pump is going bad. The sump is still half full. Thought will refill once goes low as I have a different colour -45c liquid. Appreaciate inputs.

Could have water or something in your fluid. That would freeze it. I had the problem and switched to -45 as you stated and did not have an issue in - degrees F over this last weekend. Id drain what you have and replace it. Cheapest and easiest fix to eliminate possible problems.

Mine has done this too in this past weather, my wife's car too. Ended up carrying a spray bottle of washer fluid with me and spray the windshield with that until the washer starts spraying again.

-UPDATE- Had a quick look after opening the cap of the reservoir..guess what do I see..a frozen green ice block. Guess the PO put summer fluid..the big question is how do I drain this stuff in this weather. Atleast am happy its not the motor whos the culprit.

Pour warm water in to melt the frozen. Then unhook the hose and dump the tank.

While you got the reservoir off check it for cracks to. The freeze may have split it open. Worth a look to save another headache.

A hair dryer will speed up the process too. Make sure the lines going to the sprayers are good and thawed too.
