Yes, I did, it obviously didn't work. Half that cost was labor trying to find out what it was, no codes so it was pretty much a guess what I could be other things checked first,

Just clean the sensor with brake cleaner. DO NOT use carb cleaner. All you have to do is lightly mist the filter with the oil, it will bleed out and cover the intire filter.

Guaranteed it was over oiled and If you just oiled it after washing it and didn't spray the cleaner on it, the old oils still on there and when you spray the new on its got way to much for the fabric to absorb, and then it gets sucked through and gums up the sensor.

I've never put oil on it or cleaned it, it was taken out of the box and put in the truck and has been touched since. The filter itself still looks brand new, ford said they found a ton of oil in the maf. I didn't believe at first but It obvisily solved the problem so I just don't want it to happen to other ppl

Have you tried cleaning the TB? Use MAF sensor cleaner and clean the TB, should fix it. I've used K&N filters for years with no problems, just take your time to clean and re-oil them properly.

If this is what a dealership told you that it was the KN filter contact KN immediately by any means that you can get ahold of them they stand behind there warranty 100%. It was what they base there company off of. I know of someone who got a defective filter that broke apart and ruined his street bike Carbs... He called the 1-800 number and they payed for all parts and labor after the dealership said it was KN and they investigated...
