I know you've already seen some of these pictures, but I also didn't add many comments as I'm still working on my review.

So I tried to solicit a set of the headlights that 4x4TruckLEDs.com sells but I was denied a discounted set, and I wasn't about to pay $150 to do a head to head review on some headlights I didn't have a real interest in owning.

I got asked by the person selling this set to do a review, and he dropped me a discount to help me get them.

So I got them, I wasn't wow'ed by them at first, but they're headlights, so what do you really expect. When you pop them in the hood goes should be what looks like upside down (the scoop faces upwards), with the diodes at 3 and 9.

What I did notice is that while the driver side was aimed the exact same as the incandescents, the passenger side was much higher. I re-aimed that light last night and it looks pretty good now.

I took some pictures with a manual white balance of 5000k (daylight), because most phones on auto will adjust the white balance to make the picture look the best. I wanted to compare the kelvin temp of the lights vs the switchbacks I have that run at 5500k. To note, I believe the headlights run closer to the 6000k end of the spectrum as there's just the tiniest hint of blue from a certain angle, but all other angles it appears bright and white.

I'm not advocating these headlights, I am advocating this type of design for our stock reflectors, though. The scoop adds the much needed reflector cut-off, and because our reflectors are smooth but with fractal edging, we need something that puts out almost omni-directional light.

LEDs are getting there, and this is a huge step in the right direction. I'm going to run these for awhile and see how it turns out, how long they last, etc.

Would these work in a projector? Or would I be better off with the 3 sided led? I'm not completely familiar with how projectors work will any light inside the projector be thrown out of it or will anything below the cutoff be blocked?

Don't quote me here, because I'm working from a general understanding of how luminance works and not specific to projectors, but... I believe in a regular reflector you would need to put them scoop-up, in a projector I think they would work scoop-down.

The worst you could do is order them, try them as-is, then undo the set screw, invert them, re-do the set screw, try them. See which puts out light better, and if neither works, return them. Amazon's return policy is pretty righteous.

Just pulled the trigger on 2 opt7 35w 6k kits one for the heads and one for the fogs. Plus jdm style switchbacks.

I ordered a set of these and the matching fogs. I'll let you know how they work.

Cool my problem is that I have the spyder lights with projectors and wasn't sure how the LEDs would work in them so I just went with what has been proven to work

There is a lot of good back and forth information here. I have toyed back and forth with different light set ups (stock vs projector) and HID vs Halogen. I finally ended up with projectors and a 5k 55W HID. I wanted to order the LED set up because from what I have read online as well as here they seem to be very reliable. My concern is how much light output down range will the LED put out. Optimally it is supposed to be at least 150 feet to properly see. Now, I know different factors come into play here (i.e. lift, lower, light cover etc) but I am making a statement based on 2.5 lift. I would be very interested in seeing a side by side comparison of this LED HID set up to see what provides the best overall

Which kind of projectors do you have? Or did you do a retrofit?
