Ok so I was monitoring battery volts again today...pulling back into the parking lot I saw over 15 volts. Now to me that sounds like a bad voltage regulator...I would hate to think that I've gotten 3 bad alt in a row but apparently it happens, according to a previous poster.

So to help narrow things down...does anyone know if a bad battery or ground wire/connection could cause an "increase" in voltage?

Yes it could. If voltage regulator thinks battery voltage is low, it can command for more charging. Re-read previous posts, and start by checking those things.
