Volant intake

Volant intake
So i have been doing a bunch of research on CAIs and i keep finding stuff about a CAI making the 5.4L run lean, but some intakes such as Airaid and AF1 not making it run lean according to Troyer performance. Volant has made their intake to not cause the engine to run lean and they claim it is desinded to not cause MAF miss readings. Is this true? Anyone running a Volant intake on 5.4L 04-08 models that is not custom tuned for the intake and have or not have had problems with the engine running lean?

I've got a Volant CAI. I ran it with the stock tune for one day, I did not throw any codes and the truck ran great.... I have a tuner however and custom tunes pending, I only ran it stock to see for myself. If I had a wideband O2 hooked up I would know if it was lean for sure, but I don't....yet.
I found that the Tow tune on my SCT and edge CS run the best with it, and they are also known to be the richer of the canned tunes.
The volant intake is definitely a well built CAI and the truck has never thrown a code with it. My engine definitely feels like it has more power and a meaner sound with it, then without it.

thanks for the personal experience, it makes sense to me that the CAI companies would take into account the fact of running lean and correcting the problem, if they wouldn't they would lose profits and customers would review their products poorly, in my opinion anyway, thanks again
