Volant CAI

The "better" kits have the mountings built in for you to install your existing MAF (mass air flow) sensor to the CAI, along with a tempurature sensor (I have this on my 4.2).
You will not set any codes or have any "check engine light" issues. Just buy the kits mentioned here. If you buy a cheap unit, I'd call the manufacturer and GET IT IN WRITING that their kits have the accomindations for the MAF and tempurature sensor (4.2 liter).
The K&N and VOLANT have these accomindations. Also, the dealer cannot void any warrantee issues or accuse you of having engine damage from using a quality CIA. Visit K&N's web site and read thier "question and answer" section. They back their product and post a written claim that their filters and kits do not cause any complications or damage to engines, contrary to the stupid myths that float out here on the internet.

I have the AFE. I would look into the CFM's that they are rated for. The AEM, the AF1, and the AFE are some of the higher ones. Also, do you want one that is open or closed? That will help you narrow down the brands as well.

CAI and other parts
I ordered my K&N CAI today from dotcomparts.com. They were the vendor on amazon.com selling the k&N. by going direct through dotcomparts, i saved 40 bucks over amazon's price. much lower than ebay and auto everything. it's definitely worth checking out.
