Default Volant CAI

Im thinking about getting a Volant CAI for my 08 SCREW. I have read that many of you have one but I wanted to kind of gather you all up and get each input. Instead of thread jumping around trying to gather the info.

I will eventually add the "Scoop". do Any of you have that? Comment?

Are any of you using it with a programmer? I have hear many CAI cause power loss with the progammer on the 3V trucks unless you have a custom tune.

Cheapest place i have found them is Autoanything.com which i trust, their even cheaper than EBAY anyone know of a different trusted site?

They're going for $260 at 4 wheel parts right now. Ive only had mine in for a couple of days now but here's my observations thus far. I have a 4.6 btw. First, it makes my exhaust - magnaflow si/do - sound a little more aggressive, not louder but seemed to change the tone just a little. The sound from under the hood is awesome, the engine growls when you really open it up, other than that i really cant hear it. As for performance, throttle response is vastly increased in most circumstances, sometimes the truck is the same when accelerating but most of the time it really takes off, i guess maybe it depends on gear, spead, etc as to how it responds. Overall ill give it a 10 out of 10. It was easy to install and has drastically improved the performance of the truck.

Curious, would taking it into the dealer with it on cause any problems? I assume they would just throw the warranty on their intake out the window but not the warrenty on the motor right? I mean, thats what they do with an aftermarket exhaust. They just throw the warrenty on the exhaust out....Right?

I would think you are dead on there dp. Of course, you could always have that a** that will try and void other stuff cause he is an idiot, but that is to be expected.

True. I dont think it would cause any problems with a CAI. I always hear people talking about taking it off when going to the dealer and i cant help to think to my self....Are you going to put your stock exhaust back on to? What about your stock stereo system...Etc etc etc
