Default VMP Tune update

Just got back from Lake George New York which ruffly for me is about a 3 hr drive as far as mileage not sure dopey me forgot to look but ,with Vmp 87% eco tune the truck got about 18.5 mpg on Hwy it hit 19 at one point but didn't last long also was cruisin at around 70 the whole way. I really don't think I picked up much in mpg b/4 tune I was getting between 17-18 Hwy not real impressed.

honestly thats not horrible milage, keeping it under 70 will drastically help though. sinse i dont have cruise control on my truck i usually chill behind an 18 wheeler at about 65. thats the way to go, draft the whole way haha
on a 3 hour trip i can get 20 the whole way...4.6L btw

see my truck actually seems like it gets a little better mileage the faster i go it has 3.73s in it and when i first got it i would go about 65 to get the best mileage out of it i have a sct x3 on mine and a k&n intake and i was gettin like 16.7 i started just not caring about it anymore goin 75 80 sometimes 85 on the highway and now im averaging 18.6 per fill up i dont get it but whatever its about time for me to buy a beater honda or caviliar for gas mileage keep the truck for everything else

trust me I'm not complaining I guess my expectations were high. I guess when I was pushing 17-18 b/4 tune I excpected 19-20 after tune thats all I'm still happy with the tunes I've even noticed a differance around town seems to be getting around 14/14.5 which I can't be happier as for drafting 18 wheelers don't have enough ***** to be that close

when on the hwy my grandpa runs his 07 fx2 from 70 to 90 at times, and recently coming back from a 4 hr trip using hwy and country mountain roads we only burned a little over 8 gallon. his truck gets better mpg at 70-80 and my 00 5.4 2wd gets better mpg 55-65. im sure it has alot to do with the 2valve vs. 3valve. i went on a 2 hr trip to owenboro ky using only 2 lane country roads and i got 19.5-20.5 mpg running cruise control on mine at 60-65mph.

how much hp was claimed if any by doing this mod. i am very sketpical about these tuners and i thought about getting one until i read a thread on here claiming they only got like 5-10hp or something. and you say the eco tune did not help you as you had hoped. so my question is,is it really worth like 500 bucks or whatever the price tag is to get something that is very expensive and seems to not be doing very much.

by the way i know nothing about these things, so if im wrong try to explain the real need or importance of these tuners and what the actual hp gains usually run and what is claimed to be gaind in the mpg.
