I have it and yes you need a bypass. Some people say you need an extra key which is crap. Go to a local alarm shop and they should have the bypass you need. Good choice on alarm btw. Best one I have owned yet

Certain bypasses need a key in order to work but others do not.

I would suggest the PKFM from DEI (check out xpresskits.com). It should come pre-programmed for all Fords. Just used it with a Viper 5301 last weekend. Only had to tap the TX/RX wires at the ignition. Then use the D2D wire to plug directly into the 5301 port.

Another option would be the CANMAX400 (also DEI). Supposedly it can use the databus to monitor the door wires, hood pin (if the vehicle has one already), and the brake. Eliminating even more wiring. However, I have not tried one. Plus you have to get it flashed with firmware specifically for Fords. Or spend the 30-40 bucks on the USB programming tool.

I have this exact one for my F150. You have to buy like an $80-90 adapter to reproduce the key signal.
