No... That is the old one....

You need part # 8L3Z-6M280-B
Should be around $50 each from your local Ford dealer..

The new one clearly looks different...

Yeah I have the latest revision. Also notice the hole in the bottom is smaller (IIRC). I'm so happy now. It fixed the knock and shake at hot low speed low RPM, that's all I care about.

So, I have an '07. Is there a build date cut off for needing to remove or not needing to remove rocker covers?

Got it for both sides! It was $67.99 each at my Ford Dealership.

I'm really trying to do this, but the darn seal isn't coming off!!! Any ideas on how to get it loose without breaking it? I feel like I'll break it if I dig the screwdriver in too deep cause it feels like it's REALLY stuck!

Get a wide bladed flat head screwdriver and slide it under one of the 2 tabs you will be prying on. Then gently twist the screwdriver working from one tab to the other tab... You will inevitably walk that seal right out of its hole... Don't be worried if you scratch the valve cover a little bit... Get some new replacement seals if you mangle your old ones... The seals are probably the hardest part of the whole job.
Don't forget to use a 1 piece (roughly 6" long T27 driver) to remove the solenoid... A 2 piece driver could easily fall off and get stuck in the cylinder head.

Here's a quick write up I made that details how to do it...

It may just be me but... I seem to notice my truck has lost it's "punch" right off the line. Before, it would really scream right off the throttle. Now it seems pretty lazy off the line but seems like there's more up top now. Don't care too much because it runs perfect now but just something I noticed.

That's funny, I feel like I noticed the same thing too... Just a hair less torque off the line... But nothing to complain about really...

Bout to hit up Jordan Ford when I wake up to snag up a couple of VCT seals, then maybe stop and get a 6" T27 wrench to pull the solenoid out. My current seals seem pretty baked onto my cylinder head, so I'm gonna wind up destroying the seal while pulling it out, and plus, it would t hurt to replace the seals too...
