I assume you already have the HP Tuners software, correct?

As for my own personal opinion, if 1 part of the VVT is bad, they are all bad or going bad. I will only open my motor once if I have to, and its all being replaced. I dont see that happening as I am currently shopping for an upgrade, but you never know.

If your handheld scanner allows inputting custom PIDs and formulas, you might like to review a series of posts in _svares Final Repair Guide starting here: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/final-r...4/#post5133357

Good Luck
Good information! I was looking for this several years ago. I have the factory service manual but the PID for second cam error value was missing. The software I had at the time wouldn't handle signed values so I had to do a raw log then convert in excel. I think this has been updated I might try again.

Thanks @06_F150 Likewise - looking for the Bank2 PIDs for _CAMDC2 and _VCT2ERR made me NUTS. I have spent a year and half hacking/trying to identify ALL the OBDII PIDs that respond to a complete Torque Scan on my '04 Triton. I would frequently uncover LOTS of PIDs that were NOT in my Torque Scan. I began to realize the 'helter skelter' nature of OBDII parameter assignment among various models. It's as though Ford had no one in charge of coordinating proprietary OBDII assignments beyond those few Federally mandated ones. (There are unused/unassigned PIDs right there close to the Bank1 VCT PIDs (1600 series)- WHY is Bank2 PIDs way down in the 0900 series?

I hope the information in the linked post helps many better understand operation of and problems with the VVT systems, or just blamed on the VVT system.

Having identified some 550 PIDs for various FORD models and tested or worked out formulas for many that work on the Triton, I am working to organize them in a Comprehensive list that I plan to Post in hopes others will help us fill in the blanks and work out usable formulas for them. There is some AMAZING stuff in there. And it is the ONLY window to what's going on inside our computer driven machines.
