This noise started at about 62.000Km. One of my friends had the same problem on his 2005 model. His dealer told him it most likely was a problem (known to Ford) with a bolt or bolts connecting the engine to the exhaust manifold. Does anybody know about this and/or had similar problems?

No it does not. It is louder at start-up and also when the engine is stressed i.e when towing the trailer. Ford apparently has acknowledged that this happens on a number of F-150's and there seems to be a "courtesy price" to have this fixed. I understand that it is a fairly labour intensive procedure as there are a lot of components that have to be removed in order to gain access and locate the problem.

My 07 is doing the same thing now, sounds like I got an exhaust leak and it's on the passenger side. Loud at start up but then goes away until I get on the gas, mine is getting louder and louder though. I also have a screeching type noise coming from that same area when I press the gas, It only started when I started hearing the exhaust leak, it almost sounds like a belt squeeling but it's not my belt, it's hard to explain. Not to mention the misfire and spark knock, I'm getting tired of all the trouble with this truck.
