My 2008 F150 came with a nav radio, but no sub. (it was ordered that way by the original owner who also ordered the tow package without ls rearend. go figure). I like the head unit as it has everything I could want CD changer, nav, sirius and an auxiliary input so I decided to keep that. I bought Kicker coaxials for the rear doors, kicker components for the front doors and a loaded custom sub box for under the rear seat with a 10" kicker sub. I bought a JL Audio 250w amp to drive the sub. I installed everything over the weekend and am more than happy with the setup. I did have to turn the amp down quite a bit to keep it from overpowering the rest of the system. I ain't gonna win any competitions but I think it sounds pretty good for a less than $600 system. Also, I mounted the amp in the cavity behind the ashtray. No overheating issues so far and it's hidden. Unless you heard it, you'd never know it wasn't a stock system.
