Default Backup Alarm Trouble

Hi Guys,

Anyone have a problem with their backup alarm?

Mine started to give a constant tone when I shift into reverse. I thought it might be some ice on one of the sensors, but thet're all clean.

also, this started on the first day the outdoor temp was below zero.

any ideas??

I'm going to guess here, I assume the sensors close some kind of circuit when it gets close to something, setting off the alarm. I'd start looking for a short or break in the wiring. If you can unplug the wiring from the respective sensors, maybe unhook them one at a time to see if it's one particular sensor. If it acts the same with each of them unhooked, then I'd look into the wiring between them and the cab.

Just some thoughts.

My sensors started doing that after it got down to -20 C. Turns out there was ice on the sensors! Not much but enough to screw with them and so i took a blow dryer to them and melted it off.

Yup, I gotta agree......... I parked with the read bumper toward the sunshine and no problem today............

Maybe a little moisture inside the sensor frosted the inside of the lens???

Oh well...... thanks for your input !
