Unknow noise driving me nuts!

Mine started making the same noise in the same area a week ago. It's not my heat shield because it's strapped down tight. It's right in front the steering wheel and only happens in the morning when I first start the truck and for the first 10 minutes of driving then I can't hear it. It will sit while I work a full day and won't make the noise when I crank it back up, only in the morning. Hopefully I can find the culprit this weekend and will post if I do.

I have a 2008 4x4 5.4L ext cab. Only makes the noise when the truck is in gear. Even makes the noise in gear but stopped at a red light. It sounds like it's right in front of the steering wheel. It doesn't sound like anything to breaking but just gets on my nerves. It doesn't do it all the time either when it's in gear. It sounds like something is moving around or lose. But I looked and looked. Any ideas guys. I really don't know how to explain it......... Thanks.

HH06 -- I can almost guarantee that someone left something (coins, usually) in the tray above the radio. Hit a bump, coin goes into the defroster and settles in the HVAC plenum.
The good news? I hope you like that noise, because the only way to get that coin out is pull the dash, take the plenum apart.
I've seen one truck with a hole cut out of the plenum to get a wedding ring out. Owner took 4 sections out with a dremel or something before he found the ring. The foil tape all over the place gave it away.

Well mine sounds more like a spot weld broke on the dash metal frame, hence why I'm trying to figure out what kind of spray foam I can use to muffle it.
