Default U-joint removal

How do you remove the U joint from the rear drive shaft? I was told it takes a special tool! Anyone have experience with it? 2004 f150 fx4

it doesnt require one but it makes it a whole lot easier. you can use the BFH and socket method or get the tool and save your self some agravation.

It doesn't have the normal E-clamps, C-clamps that they are supposed to have!

What year truck? Ford made some driveshafts for these that had staked in u-joints. If there is a journal cut into the yoke on the outside of the caps then you can change them, if not then you have to buy a new complete shaft. Post a pic of the yoke where the clips would normally be.
