Are you still thinking about putting them in the bed of your truck? Just my 2 cents but i feel like if you put them in the bed that you would get some nasty turbo lag. I may be wrong but I thought this because firstly the exhaust has to travel all the way back to the turbos, which in the bed would be a long ways, and then after that they would have to push the air back up front to the engine which would also take more time. For example if you put 10 psi into a small balloon it will fill up fast but if you have a balloon that is 3x bigger and you put the same psi and amount of are in it per second it will take considerable longer. Also the pressure coming down the exhaust would be lower because it would be able to travel farther down the pipe. It may start at a high pressure near the engine but it is pretty low pressure at the exits in the back.

Not sure if that makes sense but that's somewhat my thinking. let me know what you think!

I suggest you shop around, precision has high quality turbos for $900.

This is one that should be a good match if you just ran one turbo... Twin turbos will need to be smaller. They sell the flanges, and with piping kits tune, dyno time, oil, fuel, injectors, and intercooler you could probably pull off a nice setup for $1800 - $2500..

Look up a member named Luckythirteen. He did a remote mount turbo on his ford. Its on the turbo forums. I can't find the link to it so google it... Its a great build thread and very informative.

On the remote mount. it not that big of a drop in pressure. Ive watched a lot of videos and checked up on them. at first i want to mount them in the engine bay but one there isnt enough room and two thats a lot of heat. i know this is on a corvette but the show hoarse power did a twin kit and said there is a drop in pressure but only about on psi but because the air is so cold its good for about 50 more hp.

Ya i looked at other options but for a twin kit it would be close to 5 grand even if i went with precision turbo. And once im out of the military im 45 minutes north of STS headquarters so if i have a problem i go there.

I want twins because well thats what i want. hahaha. i got the estimate.

7 grand with tax. Its a little cheaper because i get 10 percent off. but thats for everythiing. It wont let me post the price sheet. the file is too big.

i know twins would need to be smaller they also dont need to create as much boost because you combine them when entering the motor.

And i actually did look him up awhile back and thought it was pretty good. But im gonna do twins. One becasue its what i want and two because I haven't seen anyone do it on our trucks. Im sure its been done but I havent seen it.

BTW if i drop the ball bearing turbo option and water meth injection it would be cheaper than the whipple. On the single turbo at 7 psi the sts truck makes 348 rear wheel hp and 450 ft/lbs of torque. And thats at just 7 psi. thats an increase of 129 hp and 155 ft/lbs of torque.

I only compare to a whipple because that's what I was thinking before I decided turbos.

I like the thought of the twin turbo set up but seeing how successful guys like Fatherford and Twinscrewed have been with superchargers makes me want to go with a kit that's specific to our trucks. The price range for this twin turbo universal kit is similar to a Whipple.

It's all about personal preference. The kit I'm going with is on the really high end, but has a lot of extras. It's an all inclusive kit running water meth and ball bearing turbos plus a whole lot more. I like turbo over supercharger. It's just all about what you want. But if I was going super I would deffinatly buy a whipple. I'm all about doing what hasn't been done before if possible. I have huge plans for this truck and possible one day another one that will be two wheel drive.

I'm just gonna drop some pics here of what some good exhaust manifolds will do to get those twin turbos under your hood.

This is the manifold for a Honda prelude 4 cylinder. These are from the turbo job (now cancelled because of a new mitsu evolution 10 purchase) The craftsmanship is excellent. $750 shipped for manifold and down pipe.. This manifold builder will orient the flanges and everything to your specs.... They won't fit our truck, but this builder will make everything. I speculate about 2 grand for some good custom manifolds. This would also eliminate a return pump for the oil. Gravity will be fine when your this close to the oil pan.

I agree with ya but where would you have the room in the engine bay to put turbos. I've looked thought about moving a bunch of stuff around. But I just can't see two big enough spots in the engine baby for twins. You could put on where the air box is I think and movie the battery to the bed and then push everything back for room. But I just don't know. I still lookin into the bed idea. Might try and remote mount them under the bed and put a shield but I don't really like that idea. Because if I go through something really deep it could soar the turbo enough to damage it. Water drops or spay not worried about it but a wall of water that's different. Haha
