Default Turning with 4X4

Iv noticed that when my truck (07 screw) is in 4X4 mode it really doesn't want to turn. I know that when you have the front wheels engaged on any truck that you wont be able to turn as sharp, but this truck seems to be worse than others. I have a 1981 suburban and i can turn the wheels past halfway before i start to have issues. My parents have a 98 f250 and i can turn the wheels past halfway in that truck as well. With the new truck in 4 wheel drive i can only have the wheels turned about a quarter of the way before the front starts to feel like its binding. Is this typical of the new fords?

I've had similar problems with my '04 since new.

No problem, it just is what it is. At slow speed it just doesn't like to turn.

There are spots where I need 4WD where it binds. Nothing to be done about it, unless the county wants to put some $$$ into the road I live on, but it would require reworking an intersection.

Not a good thing in routine use, but sometimes it happens.

in 4H mine isn't too bad, but in 4L unless I'm on snow or a wet surface the front end does not like turning in 4WD.

4WD on dry pavement is not a good idea, the truck needs to be able to slide a bit, because if the tires can't give, the axles/diff/driveshaft will try to break

If your on pavement in 4wd that's going to be normal and that's not good.
