the edge will do all of that and does take into acount custom upgrades to your truck, (you can tune just about everything) timing shift points, fuel curve all of it and it is a plug and play, alot of use that have it dont even use the corny mounting pod that it comes with, its alot more fun when you can put it in your glove box or ash tray and fool people. you woudnt need the scan guage with the edge is all im trying to say.

The Edge is a canned tuner, you may be able to make a few adjustments, but it's still a canned tuner. If your truck is bone stock that's what the Edge is built for because it doesn't take modifications into account. You can make some user adjustments as you have mentioned, but that doesn't make it as good as a custom tune. Plus with the Edge and the Xcal II and custom tuning costing the same amount I'd go with the custom tuning and purchase the scan guage separate. The scan guage gives you more options than the Edge gives you also.

ummm...."xcal" is a short name for an SCT tuner called the Xcalibrator II...and yes if you call an SCT dealer such as VMPTuning.com or Troyer Performance, they will write a tune specifically for what you want. You dont have to worry about how indepth they will go, thats for them to worry about.
