Default Tuners

Todays topic ya'll,tuners.Need advice on tuners.I am looking to purchase one.I have an 06xlt with dual cat back exaust.

What are some good brands?
Can i expect some modest power gains from a tuner?
Are they worth the money?
Do they do any harm to the tranny?
I'm sure i'm missing allot more questions to ask,so anyone feel free to fill in questions i didnt ask as i'm new to tuners

Thanks ya'll,

You won't get much replies. If you do a quick search you will find LOTS of info on brands,hp gains etc. Good luck!

A tuner is probably one of the best mods you can make to your truck IMO. SCT probably is the most widely recommended tuner for our trucks. I'd suggest either the Xcal 3 or the Livewire. the difference is with the Livewire you get 3 canned as well as 3 custom tunes and it has the guages much like the Edge that a lot of people like. The 2 most recommended tuners are either Troyer Performance or VMP. I have an Xcal 2 with custom tuning from both tuners. I really cannot tell a difference in the tunes with the ole butt dyno so I have no problem recommending either tuner. If I ever make it to a real dyno I'll post up some results, but been trying to do that for several months.

www.sctflash.com

For the SCT tuners (best) go to www.vmptuning.com or www.troyerperformance.com

For the Gryphon (Custom tuned Edge) go to www.powerhungryperformance.com
