Trying to make my 2005 louder
Hey guys,
So I have a 2005 ford f150 XLT 2wd, and I had put on a single in/ single out flomaster super 44 series on my truck and dumped it just before the axle. Im just not satisfied, it is not as loud as I had wanted, yes sometimes it sounds loud but I mean I want it to where it will turn heads when you romp it. If you guys have any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Matt

I have an 06 XLT 2wd..I have mine straight piped after the cats. and its pretty obnoxious when you stomp on it. I had that super 44 on for like a year and I didnt like it either. much louder straight piped.

Well I believe your 2005 has 4 cats but if it doesn't pull the resonators off so if It does have 4 cats I'd pull the two lowers ones out and see how you like it. I have a 2006 as well but I have a flow master super 10 series that's dumped before axle.

Will it throw a code if you cut the back two out o.o
You can cut the rear cats off and not have a cel or anything and it makes it a lot louder, that's what I did. Or you can cut all 4 off and replace with maggie high flows 94106 or 94136 (have bungs in them for 02 sensor)

Try buying spark plug non flourer and put them were your O2 sensors are at should shut the check engine light off did this in a couple of cars including my mustang. All the rear O2 sensors do is tell the computer how much emissions is going out of the exhaust the front are the important ones they tell the computer the air/fuel mixture

If you really want loud cut those kitties off, run true duals, leave the stock H pipe.
Put on some IMCO mufflers or whatever you like. 3" tips.
I don't have to get on it anymore to turn heads. Sounds like ol 4.6L has a lot more power than it does. Engine light, yes it will most likely come on. They say they can adjust them some and eventually they stop but I don't think so. I was kinda aggravated but had code scanner so could easily clear it. Now I have a Edge (Gryphon) programmer that can clear DTC's but even better, custom codes from PHP, asked them to cancel those 2 codes and I haven't got the light since.
FYI, the sensors do read the emissions, but the computer is just looking for a 0-1Volt signal going back and forth similar to an AC waveform. I have seen where you can put a resistor in series and a capacitor in parallel and it will send the same signal at all times as if the sensors are reading correctly, (Fake it out).
Look it up on youtube, Good videos about it. I was going to do it but now with the programmer I don't need to.
