Default True Dual Straight Pipes, Catalytic Converter Question

I have true dual straight pipes on a 2004 5.4L F150 with stock catalytic converters. I called the guy at the local muffler shop and asked him how much of a difference hiflo catalytic converters will make. He said not much. Then I see people on here saying they make a big difference and I hear a huge difference on youtube videos. Please tell me what you all have experienced with hiflos versus stock catalytic converters. Should I get them? What kind should I get if I do? What else can I do to make my truck louder without cutting the catalytic converters off? I want that loud popping sound that a lot of people find annoying. My truck will do it when it first cranks up and I've read the hiflos will make it do that all the time. Thanks in advance for the help!

High flow cats are awesome. I have a true dual custom set up and I love it. Luckily it doesn't "pop" because that's as bad as fart cans on a ricer.

My shop put tested some new hiflos on my truck wen they did my true dual straights.. No difference in sound at all... I was gonna buy them because I too thought they increased sound but they put em on there and didn't sound any different. I wouldn't waste your money on cats, buy some subwoofers with that money

With any type of cat its not really ganna be all that loud. I would just keep what you had or if anything take the cats off and run whatever muffler you want or straight piped depending on if you have emissions where you live or not. High flo cats sont really make much diff to me

I recently had all four of my stock cats removed ('04 5.4l) and had two magnaflows installed and i can hear a little bit of a difference in sound with stock muffler and tail pipe along with a little better gas milage and throttle response

If I run true duals with no muffler on my 05 5.4 with stock converters should I expect popping? I completely agree that popping is as bad as a fart can on a ricer

I have true duals from the headers back with 2 high flow cats vs the factory 4 the truck came with. I am nothing but impressed with the sound quality. My truck sounds better than a couple of the dualed mustang owners I go to college with. No popping, just good ole' American muscle sound
