Took my 2007 this morning and had the new transmission update put in. Then me and the Tec went for a 25 min ride so he could brake in the new up date that is out for the transmisson. The updat didn't fix the promblem but it did fix the way it was shifting.

Once the tec felt what I was talking about with the shutters he told me that it had nothing to do with the torque converter locking in or out. He told me that it was a drive line vibration. He said that the drive shaft need to have some weight to it and something about shimes? Has any body else heard any thing about Shiming the rear up to stop a vibration? Just want to let yall know.

if he has to shim the rear end, im pretty sure that means you need to replace your inner and outer bearing along with the pinion, the inner bearing is pressed to the pinion, and the shims sit in between the pinion and the inner bearing. Not possible to remove the bearing from it

Hi,
I have EXACTLY the same problem, was this ever fixed?
im scared out of my mind that my transmission is going.. but on the other hand im pretty sure i need plugs. Either way, i'd WAY rather do the dreaded spark plug job than doing my whole tranny

Default Truck shutters

I reported that my 2004 F 150 non Heritage was running funny a few months ago.Had new plugs put in at 88,000 and 6 ,000 miles later it did the same thing .Ford dealer replaced the plugs AGAIN said there was a rust color on the electrode . Cost over 600.00 .I am trying a different brand of gas to see if this will help .

i am running into the same problem now. Only at 50 mph and need to increase speed alittle or going up a hill. I have 88k miles on it and it will studder and jolt until i mash the gas peddle, which it then down shifts and speeds up. Does not really seem like anyone has a def. answer. OD off does fix the problem for me, i just dont like driving around with OD off all the time.

I will post here because I was researching my potential issue. My problem happens in the same range but only if it is WOT. I have great power off the line but when I put it to the floor, it begins to miss and feels like it is bogging down. I am stumped on this. If I had problems with acceleration I would think coils or plugs but this is only at WOTafter it down shifts.

welll...
so im thinking my best option is to change plugs. i remember in my old toyota.. 5spd, when the plugs were starting to go. it would run great at high rpm, but when there was like strain on the engine it would stutter and chug along until i shifted down, like in our 4th gear about to shift stutter..
