Default Truck stalled and now won't start

I have a 06 F150 XLT with the 5.4. And I was driving the other night and I noticed my truck was sputtering. Later on I went to leave and the truck had a real hard time starting. Finally got it to run and drove for maybe 10 minutes and it started sputtering again this time worse til finally the engine died. And I can't get it to start it'll try and seem like it's going to idle but it just dies every time. I could really use some help. I'd rather not pay 180 for the dealership just to troubleshoot it

Could be almost anything at this point. Can you tell us about the miles and maintenance history?
First I would check the FPDM though.

Yup...The first suspect would be the FPDM

Around 68,000 miles. No real prior issues, I've had a couple slow starts but thought nothing of them. It has been raining here all day. And I can't hear my fuel pump when I turn the key buy I'm not positive I ever could .

I do have an Edge CTS turner so I could check my fuel rail pressure... but I don't know what would be considered normal or good

If it's the FPDM you'll have very low pressure, as your fuel pump will not be functioning. I see you're from Ohio, so it's likely that your FPDM has corroded to the point of failure from the salt on the roads. That would also be my first suggestion to check.

Yea my first thought was the fuel pump, because I had never heard of a FPDM. But with that being more common and since I don't have a spare tire, it's is exposed. Also I never run my tank below a quarter tank of gas just to keep the fuel pump cool and prolong it's life.

Truck sat overnight. Started right up this morning Fuel rail pressure is 39. It's running fine now but it's also not raining. New FPDM is $100
