Truck shakes at exactly 55 mph

I would look into getting your tires trued, almost no tire is made perfectly round they have high and low spots. Drive your truck around for a while to get the tires warmed up and work out the flat spots from sitting in the same position, then jack the rear end up, support with jack stands of course. Put the truck in drive then watch the tire closely as it's spinning and i bet you will see the rise and fall of the tread. The trueing machine will shave off the high spots on the tire makeing it perfectly round, then take it to a good shop to have them balanced. i did this on mine and wow what a difference. Every set of tires i will ever own i will have trued it makes that big of a difference. It may be hard to find a shop to do this because it is more commonly performed on 18 wheelers, so you might need to go to a shop that services 18 wheelers to get this done.

I had somewhat of the same issue - but mine was at 65. The steering wheel would shake once I reached 65 - no shake before 65 and little above 65. I ended up getting the wheels rebalanced (they weren't off my much) and a front end alignment. I guess my camber was off a lot. I second the roadforce balancer - supposedly a more accurate balance. Good luck

Havent had a shop look at it yet, but I was under the truck today changing my rear diff fluid, and found the rear wheels CAKED with mud. I knocked it all out, and will road test it tomorrow after I refill the diff.
