Default Truck running slugish.. Thoughts plz!

I have an 05 with 5.4 motor that runs great most of the time and ever so often while driving it acts very "sluggish" and weak. My first thought was the fpdm may be going out...? If i turn the truck off and restart it, it corrects the problem for a short time. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Thanks Guys!

Mine has been struggling as well. Mine actually happened after I went through a car wash and had the undercarriage sprayed really well. So because of this I was thinking mine was from the FPDM. Replaced it and still have the problem. I also read a thread about the foam gasket on the air filter can also cause the engine to bog and moan. I also replaced that gasket with high density foam for window weather stripping. Haven't had really anytime to test it after that. I did drive it like 1 mile and still seemed like I was having the problem. Does yours happen throughout the entire rpm's? Mine is more from about 1500 rpm's to 3000 rpms. Needless to say I am still spending tons of time trying to figure out what is going on with mine. I am not getting any codes as well. Here is the link to that thread. Hope it helps!

Basic maintenance, new plugs, new boots and springs on the COP's, new fuel filter, clean the MAF and take off and clean the throttle body, then report back if its still sluggish.

Have your cat converters checked. They cause all sorts of problems that mechanics don't seem to be able to resolve without getting a code.
My truck ('97 Scab, 4.6, 234,000 miles) computer would not retain the codes from bad cats. I'm the voice of experience.
