Truck not acting right running out of ideas
Have a 04' F150 4.6 V8 sputtering. Started this past Sunday. CEL popped up got the codes pulled and they said plugs 2 and 3 were misfiring. Changed all 8 spark plugs out yesterday with new coils and boots. Truck was still sputtering. Bought sea foam and added it to the gas tank as well as the crank case. Changed out fuel filter and air filter. Once again truck still continued to sputter and bog down during acceleration. Today I bough some more sea foam but it was the spray type to clean out the MAF. Saw some white some when test driving but got nothing. Don't know if this may be a sensor issue, injectors, but some thing has got to give. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance...

As of right now I just changed the boots and springs. Didn't want to go too expensive yet. But the though did cross my mind that it could be the coil

Hld247- no I haven't checked it yet. Like above statement. Trying to go the cheap route first unless I have to bump it up a notch and get technical.

Switch the coils to another cylinder, see if the code comes back. If it follows where you put the coils, then you know you have a problem with the coils themselves.

If you don't want to spend money then do my suggestion. Loosen off the exhaust pipes at the manifold or remove the O2 sensors. If your exhaust is plugged you will get you symptoms. DO NOT SPEND another dollar until you do that.
Or, replace all the plugs, coils, boots, injectors, oxygen sensors, filters and then listen to me.

You might want to drop your spare tire and inspect the FPDM also.
If you swap coils, and the codes remain on the same cylinders, then swap the fuel injectors to different cylinders and see if the codes change.

It was all good though, as it sounds like perhaps the plugs and boots/springs were original, so this can be chauked up to "preventitive maintenace"!
Next time, swap the suspect COPS over to two other cylinders, and see if the CEL codes change to those cylinders. Then you have a better feeling on if the COPs are truly bad. COPs (good ones) an't cheap, so you'll want to be sure they are bad!
